Now that the month of Nisan is upon us, and Pesach is approaching like an onrushing train full of matzah brie, I have a short anecdote about living in Alabama as a Jew.
This happened sometime in the early 90s, when my parents were living in Birmingham (but long after I had moved away). The local supermarkets had shown an admirable, growing awareness of the Jewish community, carrying (and advertising) more kosher foods, especially around Passover time. This was great. Unfortunately, they were still groping for just the proper way to reach out to their customer base.
So my mom sends me an ad from one place (Vincent's, I think). The text read (approximately):
"We wish our Jewish customers a happy Passover season! Come celebrate with us. Special prices on your holiday Challah!"
Shabbat shalom,

In a similar vein, I give you this:

Oy ge-frickin'-valt! Is that a store you know?
Maybe they just want to make sure their Reform Jewish customers feel welcomed. _________________ שלום - peace - السلام

Y'know, BBQ pork on matzah might be pretty tasty. Or as a little savory bit in the center of the matzah balls (think Chinese pork buns). The possibilities are endless. Perhaps I can get one of my non-Jewish friends to try these ideas out and report back.
April Fool's Day. Like a little tiny Adar.
Cheers,

I'd like to mention one experience when I was first getting into Judaism. The first year I put a serious effort into Pesakh, I had been trying so hard to keep from eating khamets during the season, but it was a challenge. Eventually, I felt so frustrated, I gave in, and... No, I didn't have any bread, but I did slather peanut butter and jelly on a board of matzah and make a PB & J matzah sandwich! But peanuts are also forbidden during Pesakh, and I knew it... So I ate the sandwich and started crying, 'cause I couldn't make the whole eight days without screwing up!
I guess it had a happy ending for me, though, in that I learned that that my practice and desire leans toward the Reform side of issues more often than toward the Orthodox side, and I had to find my own comfort level regarding kashrut and other issues. Apparently, some choices take more thought (and second tries) than others.
I also eventually learned a few other choices for getting through Passover, like coconut marshmallows, and putting turkey and dill in your packages of matzo ball soup. _________________ שלום - peace - السلام

Ah, but peanuts are kitniot, not chametz (sorry, more accustomed to ch transliterations than kh for the gutturals). That means they are customarily forbidden for Ashkenazim, but not Sephardim. So better to say that you lean Sephardic for Pesach, not Reform.
Also, depending on your authority, the custom of not eating kitniot may be considered a minhag shtut ("foolish custom"), and should be dropped in order to foster harmony between Ashkenazim and Sephardim. I know the Conservative movement (should this be in the Movementarianism forum now?) encourages Ashkenazim to adopt the Sephardic style of eating while living in Israel. Some Rabbis advocate dropping the minhag even in the Diaspora (although this is not universally sanctioned.
My wife (who grew up with very secular practice--no bread during Passover, but otherwise no other restrictions) and children eat kitniot. The kids have PB & J on matzah pretty much every day for lunch, and we let my daughter eat plain tofu (that we buy before the holiday), since she won't eat meat, and we don't want her only protein to be cheese all week. I still avoid kitniot as much as possible. Old habits die very hard.
Chag kasher v'sameach,
